Storybound Fest is a book convention-style event that promotes and celebrates indie authors. This is an event that solely focuses on indie authors and small business/publishing houses. Readers will get the opportunity to meet their favorite (and new!) indie authors and get books signed, attend panels, two night events, and more.
When and where is 2023 Storybound Fest taking place?
2023 Storybound Fest is taking place July 21-22, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri, at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown hotel.
Will hotel lodging be available?
We have secured a hotel room block with the Kansas City Marriott Downtown, which means we have a certain number of rooms put aside for Storybound Fest at a reduced rate. This is the only hotel we have guaranteed lodging with. The discounted cost per night is $189 + taxes per night (based on availability). You can book your hotel through our discounted room block here:
While children can attend, there are not any children’s and middle grade authors in attendance for 2023. For 2024, we are hoping to have many children’s and middle grade authors. Please note: Some of the items/events may not be suitable for children. For example, if any authors have explicit covers, table/floor banners, swag items, etc. The Friday event, Murder Mystery, may not be suitable for children. It is up to each parent to determine if their child/children will attend.
When will the panel topics be announced?
Like many events, panel topics are not announced until closer to the event start date, as there are many moving parts that need to be finalized between the hotel and panelists. We are aiming to reveal the panel topics and panelists to the public in April/May 2023. The panel topics will range from writing techniques/educational to fun/entertainment.
Tickets
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale to the public Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
All Storybound Fest tickets are non-refundable. All tickets are transferrable up to 48 hours before July 21, 2023. If you would like to transfer a ticket to someone else, please email info@storyboundfest.com with your ticket confirmation number, the name you wrote on the ticket, the name of the person the ticket is being transferred to, and their email address. This is the only way to get your ticket transferred.
Are seperate tickets for children available for purchase?
There are not separate tickets for children. To be transparent, almost all the authors in attendance are Young Adult and Adult authors. There are no Children’s or Middle Grade authors, as, unfortunately, there was not many that filled out the interest form. Please be aware that if you are bringing young children, some authors may have banners that are not suitable for certain ages.
